About Cochrane Account

What is Cochrane Account?

Cochrane Account is the only log in you need to access Cochrane's range of services, including:

  • Cochrane Interactive Learning
  • Cochrane Crowd
  • Cochrane TaskExchange
  • Cochrane.org pages that require log in
  • RevMan 5 and RevMan Web

Some systems will have additional access controls, e.g. where payment is required (e.g. Cochrane Interactive Learning) or where advanced permissions are required (e.g. Archie, our editorial management system).

Who can create a Cochrane Account?

Anyone can create a Cochrane Account.

I already have an Archie account. Do I need a Cochrane Account?

No, your previous Archie account is now your Cochrane Account.

Is my username always my email?

When you create a Cochrane account, your username will automatically be the email you sign up with. And if your account used to be an Archie account, it is most likely your email.

If you have previously customised your username in your Archie profile then you may have a username that is not your email.

I forgot my password, what can I do?

Use the "Reset password" link on the login page. We will send you an e-mail with instructions on how to set a new password.

What do the Communications options in My Account mean?

When you opt in to keeping in touch with Cochrane you are agreeing to receive emails from Cochrane on a range of topics. This might include communications regarding events, organisational news, or governance information. However, the majority of our communications are sent through newsletters, so once you have opted in we recommend you also sign up for Cochrane Connect and any other newsletters suited to your interests. Some communications may be based on your interests, which can be updated at any time in My Account.

Cochrane will not share your email address with a third party and you are only opting in to receive communications from the Cochrane Collaboration.

You can also manage what Cochrane Newsletters you receive from us in the Communications section of My Account. Simply select the newsletters you would like to receive and these will be sent to your primary email address. Please note that your primary email address needs to be 'opted in' to receive these newsletters.

The email 'opt in' in My Account does not affect the emails that Cochrane needs to send you in relation to the work you complete with us. For example, if you have 'opted out' in the Communications part of My Account you will continue to receive workflow emails from Archie when you complete tasks. These workflow emails will be generated when you are working with us in any of our systems, for example Task Exchange, Crowd etc.

If you are a Cochrane Member you will also receive emails when your membership is due to expire or has been renewed and also formal notifications around voting and AGMs.

If you still have any questions regarding communications from Cochrane, please contact us on cochraneaccount@cochrane.org. You can also find out more about our Data Policy here.

How do I stop receiving communications from Cochrane?

If you no longer wish to receive any communications from Cochrane then you need to set your primary email address to opted out.

Where can I get more help?

If the above answers do not help you solve your problem, contact the Cochrane Account help desk at cochraneaccount@cochrane.org.
